What is SENSE project? And how is it related to SEIS and SOER?

SENSE is a project aimed to use semantic web technology, at first RDF/XML, to enhance and automate the synchronization of state of environment information reporting from the EEA member countries to the EEA and viceversa. It has successfully been used for the SOER 2010 countries reporting here http://www.eea.europa.eu/soer/countries. Since SENSE facilitate the automatic sharing of information in a decentralised way the project is also seen as a practical implementation of the SEIS strategy.
