The code should be published soon anyway, since all out application and services are "open"
The flipping page effect can today be done with HTML5 see example http://www.20thingsilearned.com/en-GB
The technical implementation details are available here:

The HTML5 implementation will work on desktop as well as on most smart phones and tablets, since mobile devices uses latest browsers technology which supports HTML5.

Thanks for the post and links. Great site but we're still trying to figure out the embedded GIS that uses the two page spread format and flips the half page to additional active content. Much appreciated - we'll keep working on it.
