Hi,
I was just wondering why Norway (NO) are included in the WISE Water Framework Directive data viewer (https://www.eea.europa.eu/data-and-maps/dashboards/wise-wfd )? I guess it is probably because even though they are not part of the EU they choose to implement certain policies (such as those related to the environment) and therefore it is an additional data source. But can you please provide an official answer?
Thanking you in advance.
Kind regards,
Gabriel

Dear M. 'Gab_Gaff',

Thank you for contacting the European Environment Agency.

Norway is a member of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA). According to the European Economic Area (EEA) agreement, Norway fully implements the Water Framework Directive (WFD) with a specific timetable agreed. The WFD has been transposed into a national “Water regulation” in Norway, entering into force at the beginning of 2007. In brief, full implementation in Norway lags one cycle behind the EU member States.

Norway is part of the Water Framework Directive (WFD) dashboard because Norway implements the Water Framework Directive.
