Hi all,
I need the raw results of water quality monitoring (per station per WQ parameter) for freshwater bodies in the EU (in the period 1998-2018). Could you please provide me a link for download those data?

Dear M. 'Gjakovljevic',

Thank you for contacting the European Environment Agency (EEA).

We would suggest you to have a look at the Waterbase dataset that contains data from EEA member countries on water quality in rivers, lakes and groundwater from 1960 to 2018 (the majority of data are from 1992 to 2017). The information is organised by Monitoring Site Identifiers. Please see: https://www.eea.europa.eu/[…]/waterbase-water-quality-2 .

We hope that you will be able to retrieve the information that you are looking for with this dataset. Otherwise, you are most welcome to get back to us.

With kind regards,

Dear Aymn,

Thank you for contacting the European Environment Agency (EEA).

We would suggest you to refer to the EEA Waterbase dataset, as mentioned in our previous message, at the following link: https://www.eea.europa.eu/[…]/waterbase-water-quality-2 .

In order to find what the various determinand codes represent, we would invite you to use the following glossary as reference: http://dd.eionet.europa.eu/[…]/view .

All together, the database has a total 2 265 786 records for 8 of the requested determinands (everything except Salinity, which is not reported for the freshwater). All those records should also be in the Waterbase file.

We hope that this may be useful for you and if you wish to receive an extract of our dataset by email, please contact us via info@eea.europa.eu.

With kind regards,
EEA Enquiry Service
