We would like to announce that the 2019 update of the WISE WFD reference spatial datasets is now available online at https://www.eea.europa.eu/[…]/wise-wfd-spatial-2 and in the SDI.
It includes all data reported between 2016-05-05 and 2019-03-31.

Hi all,
I have downloaded the latest updated version of the WISE WFD Database (20th April) which is now available as .gpkg format. However, I cannot read it neither on my computer (QGIS) nor through online services. It seems there is a problem with its content. Could you please provide it as .shp file?or could you please suggest a way to solve this issue?

Dear Ms. Chiara,

Thank you for contacting the European Environment Agency (EEA).

The WISE WFD Database is a SQLite file that you can open in QGis using the DB Manager.

As this database contains non-spatial tables, it is unfortunately not possible to export it to shapefile.
However, you can download the spatial data from https://www.eea.europa.eu/[…]/wise-wfd-spatial-1.

Please note that a new version of the spatial data (1.3) will be published in a few weeks time.

We hope that you will be able to access the WISE WFD Database with the above information. Should you still encounter problems, please don't hesitate to let us know.
