4-figure NUTS code in database?

Hello, I just wanted to ask if you have any clarification of the NUTS codes used in the Waterbase data? I tried to map the 4-number codes into the Eurostat NUTS-3 classification, however without success. This is because Eurostat uses alphabet+number format (for instance DE-105) for the NUTS codes, and the Waterbase reports the NUTS in a format such as "2037". Could you please advice?

The waterbase I'm referring to:
 http://www.eea.europa.eu/da[…]water-treatment-directive-1

The NUTS codes from Eurostat:

http://epp.eurostat.ec.europa.eu/[…]/introduction

Another regional code format (LAU) from Eurostat - which has 8 numbers:
http://epp.eurostat.ec.europa.eu/[…]/local_administrative_units

Many thanks for advice!

Dear Ikkk,

Sorry for the late answer.
There is a code list in the Waterbase containing the NUTS codes linked to the 4 digit codes mentioned below.

Under the page http://www.eea.europa.eu/da[…]ater-treatment-directive-1, please see the sheet named "Waterbase-UWWTD-NUTS" in the table Waterbase_UWWTD_v2_codelist.xls (Microsoft Excel spreadsheet) - under "additional information".

I hope this helps!
