Up to what height from ground level, municipal solid wastes can be dumped at open dumping site, mainly in developing countries? This is to know the tentative usable life of a dumping site.

Dear Sumandhun,
after consulting our expert I unfortunately have to inform you that this is not in our area of expertise. There is no design limit mentioned in the landfill directive. It depends on the topography and slope of the available land. Our expert has already visited many landfills both in Europe and in some developing countries which have a height of about 20m to 30m from the ground. However, in some cases if the topography (valley type) is suitable it could be even more than that.
