Hi, I am wondering if the EEA gives funds for environmental projects in developing countries, i.e. Peru.
Thank you!

Dear Ms. E. Sheen,

Thank you for contacting the European Environment Agency (EEA).

The EEA aims to support the development and implementation of sound environmental policies in the EU and other EEA member countries by delivering timely, targeted, relevant and reliable information to policy-makers and the public. The Agency produces reports about the state and trends of the environment in Europe, but does not offer funding for projects.

There is a multitude of funding programmes available at EU level, such as Horizon2020 or LIFE. It is however important to check the geographical coverage of these programmes before applying.

The website on ‘Fundings and Tenders of the European Union’ is a good starting point for anyone looking for information on funding available from the European Union and can be accessed at:
https://ec.europa.eu/info/funding-tenders_en and https://europa.eu/[…]/funding-grants_en.

To retrieve information on EU’s activities regarding non Member States of the EU, I suggest that you consult the website of the European Commission.

The European Commission is divided into 36 Directorate Generals (DGs). DG International Development and Cooperation is the branch of the European Commission, which formulates the development policy applicable to all developing countries, including Ethiopia. The EU development policy focuses on the main thematic and sectorial areas such as: linking trade with development, regional integration and co-operation, support for macro-economic policies and promoting equitable access to social services in coherence with the macro-economic framework, supporting transport, promoting food security and sustainable rural development and support for institutional capacity building. For further details, please consult the homepage of the DG International Cooperation and Development at:
https://ec.europa.eu/europeaid/home_en

By clicking on the following link, you can access the ‘Delegations & EU Offices’ section of the DG External Relations. This section enables you to view the Delegations & EU Offices present in the country of your interest: http://www.eeas.europa.eu/delegations/index_en.htm

Hopefully, this information may be of use to you.

Kind regards,
