Hello,I am a Msc student who is looking into up-cycling the waste materials from our daily life and improve processes or products, or even upcycling them into construction and civil engineering.
Now i am comparing the value between upcycling, recycling, downcycling the domestic waste. Do you have any information or documents such as the energy consumption and cost of recycling the waste in UK and Euro?(or more about my topics)
For example,
how much energy is required to produce the raw material?
how much energy is required to recycle?
can the waste be re-used?
can it be recycled, or is it downcycled?
Should domestic waste be upcycled, recycled or re-used?

Thanks a lot!

The EEA has not analysed these questions in detail. However, I suggest that you take a look at the EEA report on solid waste http://www.eea.europa.eu/[…]/managing-municipal-solid-waste and also consult UNEP’s resource panel publications (http://www.unep.org/[…]/Default.aspx).
