Dear Sir or Madame,

We are students at the Pforzheim University, in Germany. As a part of an interdisciplinary project we have to write a scientific elaboration of the “Situation and stakeholder analysis to WEEE disposal in Europe”.

The targets of this projects are:

- Criteria for electronic waste collection
- Structure of collecting groups
- Estimation and amount of recyclable materials out of electronic waste

For this reason we want to inquire whether there is a possibility to get more detailed information.

Thank you in advance.

Kind regards

Benjamin Mayer

The EEA does not have information about stakeholders in WEEE collection. You might find the following information useful:

• EEA indicator on WEEE (http://ec.europa.eu/environment/waste/weee/index_en.htm). The indicator shows how much WEEE is currently recycled. It does not show what is recyclable.
• You can find the available data on WEEE at Eurostat’s data centre on waste: http://ec.europa.eu/eurostat/web/waste/data/database (scroll down to see the WEEE dataset)
• I recommend to check the European Commission’s website (Environment – waste) for studies on WEEE. There is a recent study on Extended Producer Responsibility which also addresses WEEE: http://ec.europa.eu/[…]/Guidance%20on%20EPR%20-%20Final%20Report.pdf
