Hello,

First of all, I wish that your family and friends as well as yourself.

I’m using A.3.b.i-iv Road Transport 2019 Tire 2 in order to calculate air pollutant emissions.

I have some questions.
How are emissions of CH4 been calculating using Tire 2?

In Table 2.2: Implementation years of the European emission standards, does column “Start Date” show implementation date of new vehicle type approvals or implementation date of all vehicle sales and registrations?

How can be calculated pollutant emissions of battery electric vehicle (BEV) depends on origin of electricity?

Best wishes

Dear M. R. Calvet,

Thank you for contacting the European Environment Agency (EEA).

Information regarding CH4 emission calculation may be found in the chapter “Emissions of non-regulated pollutants” at page 62.

Regarding the information listed in Table 2.2 here is the explanation from the text: The table below lists the different vehicle technologies addressed by the methodology as well as the introduction year (year of first registration) in the vehicle fleet based on European legislation. Minor differences with respect to the date of introduction across countries are expected, however they are not included in the table. A more detailed description of the emission standards maybe found in Appendix 3.

Information regarding calculation of pollutant emissions of BEV are listed at page 138.

We hope that this may clarify your questions.

Thank you for your answers
The explanation listed in table 2.2 doesn’t fit with other information I have found:

Could you clarify it for me?

Hello

I have found other information:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_emission_standards
https://www.delphi.com/innovations (At the bottom of the page see Downloads
2020-2021 Passenger Car & Light-Duty Vehicles - NEW
In the document see pages 6 to 10)

My question is:
In Table 2.2: Implementation years of the European emission standards column “Start Date” is implementation year of first registration. But in the both previous links, the year of first registration is later. Nevertheless, the Start Date in Table 2.2 is the same year of type approval in previous links.

Is any mistake in Table 2.2: Implementation years of the European emission standards?
