Dear Forum,

I have a question reffered to the passenger cars database (Monitoring of CO2 emissions from passenger cars https://www.eea.europa.eu/[…]/co2-cars-emission-10):
1- What does "AA-IVA" mean in the variable "manufacturer harmonised"? Same for "AA-NSS". Are these missing values? and, if they are, can they be considered random or this missings have some particularity in common?
2- What does the variable "Fuel mode" means? possible values are B, E, F, M (and NA which I undersand as missing value)
Thanks,
Jordi
PS. I am sorry I loss the previous discussion on this same topic (identifying the car model)

Hi,

Please find the answers to your questions here:

1. AA-IVA stands for individual vehicle approvals and AA-NSS – for national small series. These vehicles are out of the scope of the Regulation (EU) No 443/2009.
2. According to the guidelines on the monitoring and reporting of CO2 emissions from light duty vehicles and in response to the 2nd question, please find a table attached to this e-mail. This table specifies the entries for fuel type and fuel mode for each fuel combination. For the fuel mode the permitted entries are:
• "M" for mono fuel vehicles;
• "B" for bi-fuel vehicles;
• "F" for flex-fuel vehicles;
• "E" for battery electric vehicles (BEV), i.e. "pure" electric vehicles (NOT hybrid vehicles).

Kind regards

Dear EEA,
I am still working on this dataset for seeral research projects. I was wondering whether exists any information regarding average price of each car model registered in the referenced dataset (Monitoring of CO2 emissions from passenger cars https://www.eea.europa.eu/[…]/co2-cars-emission-10).
thanks,
j.

Dear M. Jordi,

Thank you for contacting the European Environment Agency (EEA).
Please accept our apologies for not replying sooner. Your message got lost on our system.

The dataset mentioned does not include average prices for each car model but we will investigate where you might be able to find this information. Should we find a reliable dataset with this information, we will get back to you.

Please note that a new version of the dataset is available at: https://www.eea.europa.eu/[…]/co2-cars-emission-15.

With kind regards,
EEA Enquiry Service
