Hello - I have read Mihai Tomescu's explanation of energy intensity data (at https://www.eea.europa.eu/[…]/total-primary-energy-intensity-3). I am looking for energy intensity data for EU28 food & drink manufacturing (NACE 2 sections 10 & 11) but energy intensity doesn't seem to be broken down by industry sector - is this true? I have tried to calculate it myself, but I can't find GDP at constant prices on Eurostat. Can anyone help?

Hello,
Indeed, we do not show the primary energy intensity broken down by sector in ENER017. However, what we show instead in another indicator, ENER016, is final energy consumption broken down by sector. In our view, it makes more sense to use final energy consumption for the sectorial perspective, because primary energy intensity includes the transformation and transmission losses, as well as the auto-consumption of energy of the power and heat-generation industry.
For GDP, you can either download the dataset that we show in the ENER017 indicators: https://www.eea.europa.eu/[…]/assessment-1
or indeed use the Eurostat data.
