Dear all,

I am a master student at the university of Ghent. I was wondering to what extend Cost Benefit Ananlysis (CBA) is used for policy guidelines. Are there any publications concerning this topic? Moreover, are there any efforts being made to streamline/standardize the valuation methods of environmental damage?

Kind regards
Andreas Heirbrant

Dear M. Andreas Heirbrant,

Thank you for contacting the European Environment Agency (EEA).
We would suggest that you consult the below publications:

- Guide to Cost-Benefit Analysis of Investment Projects for the period 2014-2020 : https://ec.europa.eu/[…]/cba_guide.pdf . A new version is expected soon.

- OECD publication 'Cost-Benefit Analysis and the Environment' : https://www.oecd.org/enviro[…]onment-9789264085169-en.htm . This literature it looks into the use of CBA in policy formulation.

- European Commission -DG Environment webpage on Environmental Impact Assessment: https://ec.europa.eu/environment/eia/eia-legalcontext.htm .

We hope that this may be useful for you and wish you all the best with your thesis.

With kind regards,

The environmental taxes are one of the principal reasons of the recession in Europe. The taxes on gas also are direct contravention of the precept of freedom of motion. Visit here for more detail https://fintexec.coach
