Hourly energy consumption on a country by country basis:

I hope someone can help me with what may be a rather strange request!

I am trying to understand sleeping habits around the world. i.e. what time do people go to sleep and get up. Are there some countries where people are more likely to nap (siestas) in the afternoon?

In order to do this I was thinking that when the TV's and kettles switch off and people rest, energy consumption goes down.

Essentially I am after hourly domestic energy consumption patterns on a country by country basis.

Are you able to help?

Or can you point me in the right direction?
Many thanks!
Jonathan

Dear Jonathan,

We do not have numbers on hourly energy/electricity consumption (neither for the EU as a whole, nor by country). It is likely however that some national energy regulators have such data. An option in this sense would be to approach ACER – the European Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (http://www.acer.europa.eu/Pages/ACER.aspx ) and to ask for further support.
