I am looking for data to compare energy from wind ans energy from other sources, is there any specific (good) document I should read (or website) besides the documents released by the EEA?

Hi Mariana,

For facts about energy production and consumption, try here (http://epp.eurostat.ec.europa.eu/[…]/main_tables) and search for wind - it should point you in the direction of a table where you can find information (Renewable energy primary production: biomass, hydro, geothermal, wind and solar energy (ten00082)). The proportion of renewable energy in the overall energy mix is available in the same place, but in the table (Share of renewable energy in gross final energy consumption (tsdcc110)).

A more general description of wind energy can be found on wikipedia - link here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wind_power). The European Wind Energy Association is also a good source of information on this topic (http://www.ewea.org/), and the European Commission's Joint Research Centre publishes 'renewable energy snapshots' which is a helpful source of information (http://re.jrc.ec.europa.eu/[…]/FINAL_SNAPSHOTS_EUR_2010.pdf).

To see what the predicted levels of renewable energy will be in 2020, see the EEA/ECN report on the National Renewable Energy Action Plans, at (http://www.eea.europa.eu/[…]/file).
