Dear EEA,

I would like to assess environmental impacts of heavy goods vehicles (HGV), up to 32 or 40 ton respectively. I found your web page with some emission factors, but not all.

Therefore I would be very pleased If you can help me with missing data for Co2, SO2, CO, HC, NOx, PM in grams/ liter for HGV up to 32 tons and HGV up to 40 tons, diesel, EURO VI.

Thank you very much!

Hello,
The guidebook/COPERT methodology does not include the emission factors in g/l of fuel. You can find emission factors in g/km and energy consumption factor in MJ/km. However, you can use the Annex Excel file for the hot emission factors
https://www.eea.europa.eu/[…]/1-a-3-b-i-1
and divide the emission factor with the fuel consumption factor. Please keep in mind that the fuel consumption is now energy consumption in MJ/km.
Please be aware that the list published on the Excel file in the Guidebook webpage is not a stand-alone list of emission factor but a list of parameters that shall be used according to the methodology described in the Guidebook.
HC are included in NMVOC whereas SO2 and CO2 are fuel related pollutant so you will find in the methodology the fuel consumption factor, but then you have to combine it with information on fuel characteristic (see the methodology in the Chapter at page 47 for CO2 and 51 for SO2).
In order to have a proper assessment you should follow the methodology described or use the COPERT model.

Kind regards,
