I am looking for mean annual precipitation data at EU level for a time period between 1980-2000 or 1990-2010.
I need that data for GIS use but if data is available as csv files with climate stations locations that’s is also fine. Using climate stations locations I can make map in GIS.
Could you please guide me in this regard?
The data will be used purely for academic research purposes.
The research project (NaToxAq) is funded by the EU Marie-Curie ITN which we believe is a recognised academic research funding body and requires open access publication of the results.

Many Thanks,

Dear M. Bilal T,

Thank you for contacting the European Environment Agency (EEA).

We would be happy to send you some data for the period 1990-2010 as regards mean precipitations via email. Please send us a message at info@eea.europa.eu so we can send you the desired documents.

Otherwise, you can also find information as regards mean precipitations at the following links:

- EEA maps on “Mean precipitation from 1960 – 2015”: https://www.eea.europa.eu/[…]/assessment. The data behind these maps are accessible through the E-OBS gridded data set at the following link: https://www.ecad.eu/download/ensembles/download.php.

- EU Climate Assessment Dataset - E-OBS database: https://www.ecad.eu/utils/mapserver/eobs_maps.php

- Locations of stations with temperature and precipitation data (2015): https://www.eea.europa.eu/[…]/locations-of-stations-with-temperature

- Copernicus Climate Change Service database: http://surfobs.climate.copernicus.eu/[…]/access_eobs.php where all datasets are accessible.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

With kind regards,
