I found a lot of interesting information about the location of animal species in the Natura 2000 network at the link: https://natura2000.eea.europa.eu/ , selecting 'Search by species'

However, I would like to have that information in kmz / kml format to add it to an interactive map of my academic work. Would that be possible? Where can I access that information in kmz / kml format?

I have tried it on this link: https://www.eea.europa.eu/data-and-maps/data/natura-10 , but the information that comes in csv format does not include longitude and latitude, so I cannot locate it when I add the file on my interactive map.

Thank you and kind regards.

Dear M. Sam79,

Thank you for contacting the European Environment Agency (EEA).

The latitude and longitude information is accessible via the Ms Access database or the csv files, that are available at https://www.eea.europa.eu/data-and-maps/data/natura-10. In the csv files package, you should look at the Natura2000_end2018_NATURA2000SITES.csv.

The following datasets with distribution information in 10x10 km grid cells may also be of relevance for you, even though they are solely available as shape files:

https://www.eea.europa.eu/d[…]itats-directive-92-43-eec-1
https://www.eea.europa.eu/d[…]birds-directive-2009-147-ec

The Kmz dataset is not a standard EEA product and is not available publicly. Should the above datasets not meet your purposes, please send us an email at info@eea.europa.eu and we will send you the Natura 2000 boundary dataset in kmz format. Note that this kmz file does not contain the lat-long information.

With kind regards,
