Hi there, I´d like to know whether the air quality data is available as an API / feed which can be accessed to consume all the live pollutants and quality index status for all spanish locations. Many thanks and regards, Raquel.

Hello,
We do not have an API for download of data from the Air Quality Index (AQI). We do however have a download service for download of up-to-date air quality data on which the AQI is based. The up-to-date air quality data are accessible via this service: http://discomap.eea.europa.eu/[…]/AirQualityUTDExport.htm. The methodology for calculating the AQI based on up-to-date data are described in the Info page for the AQI.

Currently the download service only allows filtering on country-code, pollutant and temporal extent. In your case, you would need to extract data from all of Spain and the filter the cities of interest locally.

The download service support two option for download;
1) Direct download – the recommended option, but only covers the last 2 days of data. Data are updated every hour
2) On demand extracts – this option requires more scripting on your side and we only recommend this if option 1) is not enough. To use this option you need a token (which I can create for you). Initially this was the only option for download of data, and consequently we have many users on this service, which means the queue can be long and the possibility of failure is present.

Kind regards.
