Hello,
the current EU emission target for 2030 includes a reduction of GHG emissions of 40% compared to 1990 (https://ec.europa.eu/clima/policies/strategies/2030_en). Can you tell me if this refers to CO2 emissions or to CO2 equivalent emissions?

Dear M. Daniel W.,

Thank you for contacting the European Environment Agency (EEA).
The EU 2030 target covers all greenhouse gases (outside the Montreal Protocol) in CO2 equivalent.
