Hello,

I have a question regarding reported EU greenhouse gas emissions (which can be found under https://www.eea.europa.eu/[…]/greenhouse-gases-viewer):

Data are reported in terms of CO2 equivalents (CO2e). What are the Global Warming Potential (GWP) values with which these values were calculated? Were they calculated with the same GWP value for all years?

Thank you very much and kind regards,
Daniel

Dear M. Daniel W,

Thank you for contacting the European Environment Agency (EEA).

The same GWPs are used for the whole GHG inventory and the values are from the fourth assessment report of the IPCC (100 year potential). These values can be found in UNFCCC Decision 24/CP.19 Annex III, related to the GHG inventory reporting guidelines for Annex I Parties, https://unfccc.int/resource/docs/2013/cop19/eng/10a03.pdf .

With kind regards,
