Hello, I am a student at Masaryk University (Czech republic) and I am writing diploma thesis about air pollution and its relationship to sick leaves. Therefore I would need data about air pollution (PM10 would be ok) for Czech republic. Unfortunately in the Airbase dataset I found only data for Prague-Komorany (from this site http://discomap.eea.europa.eu/map/fme/AirQualityExport.htm). My question is, if there are also data for other parts of Czech republis and to download them.
Thank you very much for your answer,
Katarina

Dear Ms. Katarina Vargico,

Thank you for contacting the European Environment Agency (EEA).

We would suggest you to consult the European Air Quality Index available at the following link: http://airindex.eea.europa.eu/ to see whether the data contained in the Index would serve your needs. You can find information on pollutants concentration (including PM10) for various cities in the Czech republic.

Do not hesitate to get back to us if you have any further questions.

With kind regards,

Thank you very much for your reply! Is it possible to download also historical data from these Czech stations? I would need daily data from 2006 till 2018.
Thank you very much.

Regards,
Katarina

Dear Katarina,

The Air Quality index started in 11/2016 and we do not keep the values behind the map in a dataset. The data can nevertheless be reconstructed from the raw data (hourly or daily values) available at:

• 2000 - 2012
http://aqportal.discomap.eea.europa.eu/[…]/

• 2013 onwards
http://aqportal.discomap.eea.europa.eu/[…]/

The statistics (all years) can be downloaded from:
http://aqportal.discomap.eea.europa.eu/[…]/

We hope that this helps.

With kind regards,
EEA Enquiry Service

Thank you very much for your response,
but unfortunately I think there is still a problem. I used the link you shared with me and selected Czech republic and than some town and pollutant.. But every time I select some town from Czech republic the data which I downloaded are for Prague (at least that is written in the .csv).
Am I doing something wrong or is this an expected behavior?

Thanks again!
Katarina

Dear Katarina,

Would you please be so kind as to send us the link used for the data extract? We will then be able to check where the error lies and help you.

Hello,

I may be doing something wrong, everytime I download some document there is a 'column' called Namespace containing value CZ.CHMI-Prague-Komorany.AQ.

For example also this two links should be for town Havirov year 2000
https://ereporting.blob.cor[…]2000_airbase_timeseries.csv
https://ereporting.blob.cor[…]2000_airbase_timeseries.csv

They both contains different data, but the column Namespace is always Prague-Komorany. Is it really from Prague or is it from Havirov, and if it is for Havirov how can I know that?

Thank you!
Katarina

Dear Katarina,

We would invite you to have a look at the following link that corresponds to a request made on our side and that could possibly contain the information that you are looking for:

https://fme.discomap.eea.eu[…]Output=HTML&UpdateDate=

Without your actual request, it is unfortunately impossible for us to do better.

Note that, if you are looking for specific stations, we can also recommend you to look at the metadata file where you can identify the stations and samplingpoints to be downloaded: https://ereporting.blob.core.windows.net/[…]/metadata.csv.

Should you encounter further difficulties, you are welcome to contact our helpdesk at aqipr.helpdesk@eionet.europa.eu.

I hope that you will be able to find what you are looking for.
