tomasotorriani1 CO2 emission intensity.
My question is related to the data available on the Eurostat website on CO2 emission intensity (
https://www.eea.europa.eu/d[…]3A%5B%22European%20Union%20(current%20composition)%22%5D%7D%7D).
These figures are related to what phase of the electricity generation? Do they include upstream losses and electricity network losses? How do they compare with the data on Table 2, page 9 of the following research? https://www.sciencedirect.com/[…]/S1361920916307933?via%3Dihub

LenKra Dear all,

I am a researcher at Goethe University Frankfurt. I am looking for daily air pollution data on a country-level and was very happy to find you website
http://discomap.eea.europa.eu/map/fme/AirQualityExport.htm
Unfortunately, I am currently unable do download the daily data, whereas this was possible last week.

I wanted to kindly ask for your help with this problem. Also, if you have recommendations where to find daily air-quality data for non-European countries I would be extremely happy. Usually, data sources I found were commercial and thus costly.

Kind regards
Lennart Kraft

Daniel_W For a research project, I need EU's F-gas emissions in terms of tons of substance.
What I found so far:
- F-gas emissions in t of CO2e, but lacking information about the average GWP used to calculate them (e.g. here:
https://www.eea.europa.eu/p[…]eenhouse-gas-inventory-2019)
- Figures about F-gas supply, production etc, which cannot easily be related to emissions (e.g. here: https://www.eea.europa.eu/[…]/fluorinated-greenhouse-gases-2019)
Can you tell me where I can find EU's F-gas emissions in terms of tons of substance? Alternatively, can I find somewhere the average GWP value used for conversion of F-gas emissions to CO2e (which I could use to back-calculate to tons of substance)?
Thank you and kind regards!

Daniel_W Hello,
when I make the following adjustments in the GHG Viewer (
https://www.eea.europa.eu/[…]/greenhouse-gases-viewer), the percentages add up to more than 100%:
- Greenhouse Gas: CO2
- Predefined view: Emissions share by sector in the EU28
Kind regards,
Daniel

Daniel_W Hello,

I have a question regarding reported EU greenhouse gas emissions (which can be found under
https://www.eea.europa.eu/[…]/greenhouse-gases-viewer):

Data are reported in terms of CO2 equivalents (CO2e). What are the Global Warming Potential (GWP) values with which these values were calculated? Were they calculated with the same GWP value for all years?

Thank you very much and kind regards,
Daniel

bas Hi there! I am looking for recent air quality data for European cities, in order to asses the effects of the recent lockdowns. Unfortunately, the data I access through the open data portal (http://discomap.eea.europa.eu/map/fme/AirQualityExport.htm) is a few days behind for most cities, whereas local institutions publish their measurements within the hour. Does anybody know what the refresh rate is of this database, or where I can find near-real time data?

MalteG Dear EAA Team

I am working on a research project on the environmental impact of mining in Europe. I therefore used the PRTR register to find the pollutant emissions from the NACE section B (Mining and Quarrying).

Now I notice a relatively strong discrepancy between the PRTR data and the data provided by eurostat (
https://ec.europa.eu/eurostat/de/data/database). Using the example of NOX emissions in 2015, according to PRTR (ReportingYear 2015; Excluding Norway, Switzerland, Serbia and Iceland, NACE activities 05.10 - 09.90), there has been an output of 53,544 tons of NOX. According to the eurostat database (same countries, NACE section "Mining and quarrying") the output was 122,821 tons of NOX.
These deviations seem to occur for other pollutant parameters as well.

Now the question to the experts: Why do the data deviate by the relatively large factor of more than 2? Is this discrepancy known? And finally, which datasource is more reliable in terms of the possibility to relate pollutant outputs to certain industrial sectors and shall be used by scientists/decision makers etc.?

Looking forward to your reply. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Best regards
Malte

proche On the https://www.eea.europa.eu/[…]/up-to-date-air-quality-data graoh, data is no longer available in the Republic of Ireland after January 23th at 17:00.

Will this be updated soon or has this data stream been stopped totally?
