Dear all,
I have to evaluate NOx and PM emissions for a BRT system using diesel hybrid bi-articulated urban buses (serial-hybrid).
Has anyone tried any approach using existing emission factors from "EMEP/EEA emission inventory guidebook 2013 update Sept 2014"?
As speed-dependant functions for hybrid passenger cars have very different shape than non-hybrid passenger cars, I assume the same difference will apply between hybrid and non-hybrid urban buses.
Unfortunately the guidebook does not provide EF for these kind of vehicles.
Any tips will be more than welcomed!

Živim u Hrvatskoj, u gradu Slavonskom Brodu u kojem je već dugi niz godina zrak najlošije kvalitete u cijeloj Hrvatskoj. Uzrok je rafinerija u Bosanskom Brodu, Bosna i Hercegovina. Već više puta smo apelirali na državne vlasti da nam pomognu u rješavanju ovog problema, ali do sada nije učinjeno gotovo ništa da bi se situacija popravila. Hello, I would like to know if there is a document or research about the pollution of natural gas power plant relative to other natural fuels power plant.
In addition, is there any recommendation on the distance of small power plant (12MW) from residence area? What problems could be expected if the residence area is about 250m from the power plant?

BicyclingAdvocacyGroupMalta I am PRO of the Bicycling Advocacy Group (Malta). There was recently a report by the EEA where Malta's traffic pollution was cited as being unacceptable by the EEA and Malta was told to invest in cleaner transport or to reduce traffic. Malta has the poorest cycling policy and uptake while cycling infrastructures are substandard rural (borrowed pedestrian footpaths limited to 6KPH) and actually do very little to encourage cycling. There are no urban cycling infrastructures. Cycling is sustainable zero emissions transport. What can BAG ask the EEA to do to prompt the government of Malta to rectify this situation?

In Directive 2008/50/EC, Article 32 it's stated, that in 2013 the Commission shall review the provisions related to PM2.5 and shall present the proposal to the European Parlament and the Council.
My question: Which Commission is it ?
Is the proposal existing?

Hi, I'm reading the document: EEA Technical report No 5/2012 Reporting and exchanging air quality
information using e-Reporting ISSN 1725-2237. There is no glossary supplied for the symbols used in the data flow charts on pages 28 - 39. However the symbols do not entirely correspond to any set of flow chart symbols I am familiar with, which is making reading the flows difficult. Could you please provide me with a glossary for the symbols used, or a link to same.

Are carried out any works on the design responsibilities of CSR, CF, sustainable development strategy? Any of these areas will be regulated in the near future? What are the directions of the work on these subjects? Or where can I find any information abut them? Mainly I think about Poland in these questions...but of course not only.

Die in Katalysatoren und Partikelfilter eingesetzten Fasermatten aus Aluminiumsilikatwollen sind nach europäischem Recht als krebserzeugend (Kategorie 2) eingestuft. Mich würde interessieren, ob das Thema durch die Europäische Umweltbehörde weiter verfolgt wird. In mehreren TV-Beiträgen (zuletzt: "Ausgefasert - Autokat verliert gefährliche Stoffe" - Beitrag vom 15.12.2008) wurde nachgewiesen, dass defekte Kats in der Praxis nach wie vor sehr häufig vorkommen, lt. Umfragen bei KAT-Recyclern sind es bis zu 20 %. Bereits vor 10 Jahren stellt Folke Dettling vom deutschen Umweltbundesamt fest: "Wir sind der Auffassung, dass der Einsatz von Keramikfasern in der Katalysatorenfertigung nicht mehr zulässig sein sollte." Nach einer gewissen Übergangsfrist müssten die gefährlichen Keramikfasern durch andere Stoffe ersetzt werden. "Einige sind schon bewährt, wie der Metallkatalysator, andere sind in der Erprobung. Denkbar wäre ein Übergangsfrist von fünf Jahren."
Wäre es nicht beispielsweise möglich, eine Studie in Auftrag zu geben, in der erhoben wird, wie viel Prozent der Katalysatoren heutzutage tatsächlich teilweise oder ganz leergeblasen sind?


enafejzagic Hello, I am a concerned citizen of Zenica (Bosnia and Herzegovina), where a steel and mining company is emitting toxic chemicals into the air and the factory is basically in the city itself. As I've heard, the acceptable concentration of sulfur-dioxide in the air is 350 micrograms, and Zenica’s air reached 1.400 micrograms per cubic meter. Is there a way to start a legal process against this company? Which Court is responsible to deal with this? Thanks!

My question is about the env_air_gge data-table of eurostat which refers the EEA as the source of the data. I'd like to know what type of sectors are meant by the category 1_A_4 ("other sectors" in the category energy).
I guess the main part of it are private households. Can you confirm that?

WE CAN'T BREATH AND ,in the name of all citizens WE NEED HELP !!!!This plant pollute our air with carbon black day and we are desperate!!Local environmental clearance ignore us completely !! In the evening, after 5p.m., all filters are off and factory emissions get into the atmosphere; after 6 minutes you can not breathe atmospheric air and appears migraine and malaise! Please HELP US!

Hello! I'm trying to acces to the data show in airWatch to show it in numerical valors. And I see that airWatch collects near real-time O3 data from european providers and american (http://eea.maps.arcgis.com/[…]0cb9d4f4d5089898b04ab1fd57c)... How can one access the near real-time O3, data please? Can you help me? I want to collect and compare the data near real-time of my europe (specially the data of my country)
