Dear Karen,
Please be aware that European environmental legislation is beyond the EEA’s working remit. The EEA neither sets nor enforces environmental policies. In the European decision-making process, it is the European Commission that proposes new EU legislation.
The EEA is the EU agency responsible for providing information on the European environment. We produce reports on the state and trends of the environment in Europe in the attempt to improve the environment and move towards sustainability in Europe. Our main report, published every 5 years, is the State and Outlook of the Environment in Europe (SOER). Find the latest version here: https://www.eea.europa.eu/soer. If you would like to know more about what we do, please see: http://www.eea.europa.eu.
