The inhabitants of the villages Athienou, Kato Moni and Marki in Cyprus, suffer from the pollution of the air (hydrogen sulfide and methane) caused by biogas power generation stations and huge farms in residential areas. The Cyprus Government never took any actions. The Environment (air and earth), the Human Rights, the Health and the Quality of Life of those people are trampled and ignored.

Please be aware that European environmental legislation is beyond the Agency’s working remit. The EEA neither sets nor enforces environmental policies. This is the task of the Directorate-General for the Environment of the European Commission. We would suggest in the first instance that you contact your local authorities or environmental societies.
