Hi,
I´m writing my Master thesis and for this project I´m using the "EEA Technical report No 9/2006 European forest types" as a part of my literature. The problem is the next one; this document is not supported with a map of European forest types. There is any possibility to download this kind of map from the website? It would be great if it is in a format which I can work with GIS.

best,
Alberto

Dear Alberto,
You might find some useful data and GIS files in the Corine land cover 2006:
http://www.eea.europa.eu/[…]/clc06_c311.zip-1
http://www.eea.europa.eu/[…]/clc06_c312.zip-1
http://www.eea.europa.eu/[…]/clc06_c313.zip-1

Please note that the same information but for a different time span also exists for the Corine land cover 2000:
http://www.eea.europa.eu/[…]/folder_listing

Additional information from the Corine land cover 2006 about forests can be found at:
http://www.eea.europa.eu/[…]/corine-land-cover-types-2006
http://www.eea.europa.eu/[…]/forestry-and-land-cover-change

Furthermore the Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission provides information about forest coverage and forest types (Broadleaves and Conifers). You can find it at:
http://forest.jrc.ec.europa.eu/

Hope that helps.
