Hello every one

My names is Juan Martinez, I am writing from Colombia.

I would like to get a methodology (official) to calculate Energy Intensity. I realized that there is no just only way to do that. Sometimes countries use real GDP, sometimes Parity GDP. Also, energy demand is obtained by using consumption of the five sources of energy: solid fuels, oil, gas, nuclear and renewable sources. Sometimes, oil is not included because somebody considers that households do not demand it. Thankyou very much for any help.

Sincerely,

Juan Martinez

Hi Juan,

We would kindly direct you to our ENER017 indicator: https://www.eea.europa.eu/[…]/assessment

In the description of the indicator and in the metadata field you will find further information about how we construct this indicator. In our view, all energy sources need to be added up together. We will update that indicator by the end of the year.

Kind regards
