My name is Bogdan and I am living in Romania. I would like to ask you, why there isn't any data available for Romania regarding Air quality index?
Kind regards,

Dear M. 'Bogdan13',

Thank you for contacting the European Environment Agency (EEA).
As you may be aware, the EEA aims to support the development and implementation of sound environmental policies in the EU and EEA member countries by delivering timely, targeted, relevant and reliable information to policy-makers and the public. This is done to assist the European Community in its attempt to improve the environment and move towards sustainability in Europe. To accomplish its aim, the EEA collects information through EIONET (the European Environmental Information and Observation Network: http://www.eionet.europa.eu/) . EIONET is a network of environmental bodies and institutions active in the EEA member countries. It is made up of national focal points (NFPs), national reference centres (NRCs) and European topic centres (ETCs).
The EEA transforms environmental data from the member countries into effective aggregated information at the European level, and creates a range of different databases. This is the process used to populate the Air Quality Index that you are referring to. The reason why the Romanian data is not accessible in the Index is due to the fact that it is currently difficult for our competent interlocutor in Romania to transfer the hourly data which are necessary to calculate the Air Quality Index. We are aware of this situation and are looking at ways to resolve the matter.

With kind regards,
