Hello,

I would like to know whether there is a file in which the Waterbase lake monitoring stations are linked to the corresponding lakes in the Global Lakes and Wetlands Database (GLWD) from the WWF. Thank you in advance for the information regarding this subject.

Regards,

Jasmijn

Hello,
The Waterbase lake monitoring stations are not linked to the corresponding lakes in the Global Lakes and Wetlands Database (GLWD), but as all the monitoring sites has coordinates it should be possible to link the sites to the shapefiles of GLWD.
The EEA has different reference systems for spatial information in rivers and lakes, see for example
• European catchments and Rivers network system (Ecrins) http://www.eea.europa.eu/[…]/european-catchments-and-rivers-network (an update is foreseen in the autumn 2016)
• WISE Large rivers and large lakes http://www.eea.europa.eu/[…]/wise-large-rivers-and-large-lakes
• Copernicus Land Monitoring Services http://land.copernicus.eu/
Kind regards.
