AlexDromeas
Hello to the EEA Staff,
I am writing to you on behalf of the company Dromeas SA. We are an office furniture manufacturer in Greece and we are the exclusive supplier of office furniture for the European Commission and its agencies since 2009. Up till now we didn’t have the chance to get in contact with you and we wanted to take this opportunity to talk to you regarding any needs in office furniture you might have and what we could do to help you cover them.
You can find more about our company in the website: www.dromeas.gr
If your agency was part of the contract the Commission signed with our company you can take advantage of that and get furniture from our company in wholesale prices. If you were not included in the initial tender, you can check and see if you can be included even now by contacting Mr. Marc Mansart who is the person responsible from OIB for the contract. His email is : Marc.MANSART@ec.europa.eu
For any further questions you might have please don’t hesitate to contact me and I would be happy to help you in any way I can,
even if its necessary to Visit you.
with very kind Regards
Alexandros Vlahos

Roosje So now the eu wants to manage our climate too ? The eu hasn't been very successfull in its other endeavours, please don't mess this up as well. The climate does pretty well on it's own, and CO2 doesn't have a lot to do with it. The 'Climate Change, Impacts and Vulnerabilities in Europe 2012' report doesn't really add to the little credibilty the eu has left....

This is what the ippc had to say about your extreme weather claims:
“Recent analyses in changes in severe local weather (tornadoes, thunder days, lightning and hail) in a few selected regions provide no compelling evidence for widespread systematic long-term changes“. (Source: IPCC, 2001, TAR-02-2, Chapt. 2.7.4., Summary, S.163-164).

HughSharman So you tell us the "big news" today that the European climate is changing! When was it not changing during (say) the last 24,000 years. Or the last million years? Or the last 2 billion years? And if it ever achieved temporary stasis, how long did that stasis last? Equally importantly, what on earth is "Europe" supposed to do about it in a world with a population of 7 billion, set to reach 9 billion by mid-Century. Or is it instead possible that the EEA is a complete waste of public resources?

Hello,
Do you have European maps showing the yearly precipitations over te last couple of years (2008-2011) and also maps with SOx and NOx monitoring for these years?
Coud you also inform on the sources of the data. Are these maps based on a summary of some meteorological stations collections or are they based on estimation (if yes, what is it based upon?). Thank you in advance

Hi all,
I would like to use CORINE Land Cover 2006 shp files, downloaded from this page, to create background of tourist map. I have some my own data, but I missed forests and urban areas (which I would use from CORINE). I'm going to sell final map (paper map) to my customer. Is it perfectly legal to do this? On this page: http://www.eea.europa.eu/legal/copyright is written, than using for commercial purposes is free of charge, but I would like to be sure of this. If this usage is ok, is anywhere copyright text for using on final map (for example: Map data from CORINE Land Cover 2006 (c)EEA) I could use?
Thanks for help and clarifying the licence,
Dan Vrbik

Hi,
I am Luan Santos, a Master student in Environmental Planning in Brazil, and I was looking at the EEA website in order to find its budget since 1992 until 2012, but, unfortunately, in the website there is only since 2009. Is it possible to have all the data since 1992? Kind regards, Luan Santos

Dear EEA,
I am a student in European law and I am spending a practical period at PAN Parks Foundation during August.
The aim of my research project is to look into how the current Birds and Habitats directives secure the protection of wilderness and what are the outstanding challenges.
In order to progress in my study, I would know whether it exists a publicly accessible database for Natura 2000-sites that includes the conservation objectives.
If not, I would be very grateful if you could advice me on how I could acquaint myself with the conservation objectives.
Thank you very much in advance for your reply.
Best regards,
Sarah

Dear EEA,
I'm writing a master thesis about EU Agencies, therefore I try to establish how the EU Agencies are perceived in the scientific world.
I don't know if you are familiar with the therm of the "Epistemic community" (a network of professionals with recognised expertise and competence in a particular domain and an authoritative claim to policy relevant knowledge within that domain or issue-area)?
My question would be if you could point me into the right direction to find documents or information on how the "Epistemic community" reacts to the EEA?
Maybe some position papers of other (independent) scientific organisations concerning your results / working procedures?
Do you have some intern evaluation about reactions to your work, that you might be allowed to send me?
Let me thank you in advance for all the support you might bring to my project.
Sincerely yours,
CvDuhn

Hi,
I have recently uploaded an image (1) on the EEA website to Wikimedia Commons (2) . However, I have since discovered that Wikimedia Commons requires a more detailed explanation of copyright status than is given on the EEA website. At the bottom of EEA webpages, there is a link to Creative Commons Attribution 2.5 Denmark (CC BY 2.5) license. Does this license apply to images produced by the EEA?
Many thanks,
Thomas
