Hi!

I am using QGIS 1.8 on OSX 10.8 and I tried several times access the EEA public map services unsuccessfully.
I tried to add the WMS server data from here:
http://www.eea.europa.eu/code/gis/gis-applications-api
but it seems that the server url ( http://discomap.eea.europa.eu/[…]/WMSServer ) is not working...
I suppose the server url is outdated would it be possible to give me the actual access data?

Hi Bèla

As you mentioned, some of these links are in need of updating. This should be completed shortly.

In the meantime, you can access the data here: http://discomap.eea.europa.eu/ArcGis/rest/services

Once you are on this page, look for the service of interest – they are organised by theme. Once you have found a service of interest, click on the link and then use the WMA capabilities. There is normally a link on the top of the page.

Please note that WMS capabilities are not always enabled. In these cases, the particular service in question is not accessible with a WMS client such as QGIS. We are working on enabling WMS for all services and this should be completed in the coming months. If there is a particular service you need to be WMS enabled, please let us know and we will prioritise it.
