Corine Land Cover surveys Comparison

.
Description
Good evening, I am comparing land use data in Barcelona and Milan by using CLC1990, CLC2000 and CLC2006 at NUTS3 level (NUTS3 codes: Barcelona= ES511; Milan= ITC4C). However, as you can see from the attached table, as the CLC2000 inventory sets the total area, the totals are underestimated (85,4% and 42% for Barcelona and Milan provinces, respectively). Can the EEA make some comments regarding such results? Thank you very much, sofia p.

Hello, We don’t fully understand the assumption behind the table. According to the land accounts viewer published here: http://www.eea.europa.eu/[…]/land-accounts, for ES511 (Barcelona), agricultural areas are accounted for 248513ah (much higher than 151046 in the table provided), while for the same classes in ITC45 (Milan) 118219ah (with a mere 18360ah in the table).
