I'm a resident of Tbilisi, Georgia and want to establish a "Waste Management Company" to recycle plastic and paper. I'd like ideas as to how to go about setting up and if I could receive any assistance in terms of resources from EEA.

Dear jimmy,
We highly appreciate your engagement in waste management. As you may know the EEA aims to support the development and implementation of sound environmental policies in the EU and other EEA member countries by delivering timely, targeted, relevant and reliable information to policy-makers and the public. This is accomplished by collecting environmental data through EIONET (the European Environmental Information and Observation Network). For additional information about the activities of the EEA, please consult the following website:

As you may see from the description above, the Agency produces reports about the state and trends of the environment in Europe. The EEA does not offer any kind of service regarding the foundation of a company/business or funding for projects described in your enquiry in EEA non-member countries.

Nevertheless, we provide a post in this forum explaining how to obtain EU environmental funding. Please be aware that the geographical coverage of the information provided is mainly focused on the European area. If, however, you consider this information to be useful to you, the above-mentioned forum post is available at:[…]/app_all?Subject%3Alist=funding

Best regards and good luck!
