I am writing my master thesis on need and options for an inspection capacity at the EU level. Is there any communication or report from the EEA on the topic of inspection? Would the EEA be willing to endorse such a role of inspector.?

I noticed that the GEMET client (listed at bottom of http://svn.eionet.europa.eu/[…]/GEMETWebServiceAPI) is no longer functioning. It appears that eionet content has moved and the links in GemetClient.js therefore need updating. I'd be grateful for any suggestions on how to resolve. Thanks, Richard.

I am trying to implement a life cycle model of transport air emissions. I read the very consistent report "EMEP/EEA air pollutant emission inventory guidebook — 2009, Exhaust emissions from road transport", and I do not find any consideration about load factor. It is an important parameter in air emission per road vehicules. Is it underlying in emissions factor ? How can I include the load factor parameter ? Could I convert your emission factor in tons/km ?

Hello, I live in the province of Gipuzkoa (Basque Country). Our last provincial government had a waste management plan, which included, along with other measures, the building of an incinerator. But our new provincial government totally opposes the incinerator and they say they want to make Gipuzkoa the "zero waste land" and the european leader in recycling with 80 percent recycling rates.
Last week our Environment deputy said that 'he was very pleased with the decision taken by the Environment Commitee of the European Parliament on 25th April, because it is in favour of zero waste policy'. He also said that 'the Commitee defends the gradual disappearance of incinerators and landfilling, and that the decision of the Commitee will probably be ratified by the Plenary in May'. He has also said that incinerators will be banned in the European Union in the short term. Is all that true? I've been searching for the text of the before mentioned Commitee decision to see what it exactly says but I haven't been able to find it. Could you please help me? I would also like to know if there's a document which shows the European Union waste management policy quite clearly because there a lot of people here who don't know what to believe.
